I love to rent a car when I’m travelling. Just like I did in India and Australia. It just gives you that little bit more of freedom, to explore towns you wouldn’t usually see, and to stop to take photos at any opportunity. This way you can avoid the overly touristy areas and the slow public transport, and get to the heart (Cappadocia!) of the country and its lovely people.
